About Our Farm-to-Table Philosophy:

  • What does "farm-to-table" mean to you? At The Hackney, farm-to-table is our commitment to sourcing the freshest, highest-quality ingredients directly from local fisherman, farms, producers, and foragers. This means our menu is deeply connected to the seasons and what's currently available at its peak flavor. We prioritize building strong relationships with our suppliers to ensure both exceptional taste and sustainable practices.

  • How local are your ingredients? We strive to source as much as possible from local fisherman and local farms around Washington, NC. Chef Jamie works directly with our fisherman and farmers, and we can usually tell you the specific fisherman or farm your vegetables or proteins came from on any given day.

  • Does your menu always change daily? Yes, our dinner menu is crafted daily based on the freshest ingredients available that day. This allows our chefs to be creative and highlight the best of the season. You can expect a truly unique dining experience each time you visit.

  • How can I see today's menu? The most up-to-date menu is available on our website https://www.thehackneywashingtonnc.com/dinner-menu and is also presented to you upon arrival at the restaurant. Due to the daily changes, we typically don't publish the menu far in advance.

About Reservations and Dining:

  • Do you accept reservations? Yes, we highly recommend making reservations, especially for weekend evenings and special occasions, as seating can be limited. You can make a reservation through our website by clicking the bar on the top of this page, on Resy or by calling us at 252 623 2368.

  • What is your cancellation policy? We kindly request that you notify us at least 24 hours in advance if you need to cancel or modify your reservation. Late cancellations really harm our business so please make every attempt to cancel in a timely manner.

  • What is the dress code? We don't have a dress code but encourage you to wear what you will feel comfortable with while still enjoying an upscale dining experience.  Most of our guests defer to smart casual attire.

  • Do you accommodate dietary restrictions and allergies? Absolutely. We try to declare all allergens on our menus however please inform your server of any allergies or dietary restrictions when you arrive. Our chefs are experienced in adapting dishes or creating alternatives to accommodate your needs. While we take every precaution, please be aware that our kitchen handles various allergens.

  • Do you have vegetarian or vegan options? Given our daily changing menu, vegetarian and vegan options will vary. However, we always aim to include creative and delicious plant-based dishes. Please ask your server for the current vegetarian and vegan selections.

  • Can you accommodate large groups? Yes, we can accommodate a limited number of parties up to a maximum of 8 guests. Please contact us directly at 252 623 2368 or on reservations@thehackneydistillery.com to discuss your group size and available options. On quieter mid-week nights we can accommodate larger groups on our balcony. We may require a special menu for larger groups to ensure a smooth dining experience.

  • Is your restaurant child-friendly? While we aim to provide a refined dining experience, well-behaved children who can appreciate the atmosphere are welcome. Please consider the length of the dining experience when bringing younger children.

  • Do you have outdoor seating? "Yes, we have a lovely patio area that is open for drinks and dinning on quieter nights during warmer months."

  • Is your restaurant accessible? "Yes, we have an accessible entrance with a ramp to the right hand side of the main entrance. Please contact us if you have any specific accessibility needs."

 

About the Menu and Ingredients:

  • How do you decide what's on the menu each day? Chef Jamie works closely with our local fisherman and farmers to see what is freshest and in season. He then creates dishes that highlight the natural flavors and quality of these ingredients. Weather, availability, and the farmers' harvests all play a role in the daily menu creation.

  • Can I request a specific dish in advance? Due to the spontaneous nature of our daily menu, we are generally unable to accommodate specific dish requests in advance. However, we are happy to discuss any dietary restrictions or preferences you may have upon arrival.

  • Do you serve seafood? Where is it sourced from? Depending on the day's availability, we will feature fresh, locally sourced seafood from the North Carolina coast.

  • What kind of wine list do you have? Our wine list has been carefully curated to complement our seasonal menu, featuring a strong line up of both Old World and New World wines. Our knowledgeable staff can offer recommendations to pair perfectly with your meal. We also offer artisanal cocktails made with our own Hackney Distillery spirits and local craft beers.

  • Do you offer gift certificates? Yes, gift certificates are available for purchase at the restaurant.

  • What are your hours of operation? Tuesday - Thursday 5:15 - 9:00pm;  Friday 5:15 - 9:30pm  Saturday 12:00 - 2:00pm,  5:15pm - 9:30pm

  • Where are you located and what is your parking situation? Private parking is located in two car parks on Respess St,  One is directly behind The Hackney,  The other is further down Respess St on the left hand side.  Please do not park in The Little Inn on Main Car Park!
