On September 27th, The Hackney hosts its inaugural Chef Challenge—an exclusive, single-seating showdown bringing together two of North Carolina's most dynamic culinary talents. Each chef will craft three distinct courses, with one major twist: they don't pick the ingredients—Chef Jamie does.
The Contenders
Chef DeAnna Galbreath — Founder and Executive Chef of Bespoke Galley. A Crystal Coast native who honed her craft cooking aboard elite private yachts and opening acclaimed restaurants from Durham to the US Virgin Islands, DeAnna brings refined technique, hyper-local ingredients, and vibrant global flavors to the table. Chef Garret Fleming — Owner and Executive Chef of Chapel Hill’s award-winning Bombolo (Eater Carolinas Restaurant of the Year 2023).
